Here is the skinny:

WHEN?  July 27-29, 2017.

WHERE?  William Jewell College, Liberty, MO

The Kansas City airport is 25 min. away

WHAT?  Program:

1) PRISCILLA RAPPAPORT – All day –

1. “We have written manuals, but sometimes we need to go by the unwritten one”.
a. Making it work well using what’s there (in other words, without rebuilding it)
b. Prep work basics, putting order into the process
c. Voicing without needles

2. “Making hammer hanging easier, fun, and profitable”.
a. Priscilla will have jigs for some hands-on learning .
b. special thanks to Renner of Germany

3. “Concert Tuning” – this is a must see. This is NOT a temperament class.

Priscilla requests that everyone bring a screwdriver (both kinds), and (if you have one) hammer head reamer. There will be Renner reamers for sale, as she will bring some extras of those too.

2) JIM BUSBY – All Day-

“What really matters in regulation and tone building?”

Do we spend our time on pianos where it matters the most, or waste time on things that aren’t as important? In this class we will discuss some “spectrum analysis studies” done at BYU that made me question everything I do. Techniques will be shown that should help you go faster, and do what really counts. Topics include regulation, string prepping, hammer filing and much more.

 “21 Secrets of Top Technicians”
The idea behind class was this: What are some less known techniques that top technicians use that might be considered “secret”. This is a fun powerpoint presentation that shows some time proven, yet less known methods covering the full gamut of piano work.
 Dampers “in a nutshell”
I used to hate damper work but found a few “tricks” to not only simplify the work, but to actually make it enjoyable.
 “What’s in Jim’s Toolbox?”
I will bring tools, jigs, and time-saving devices and show you some ways to save time and money. This has always been a favorite class to many people.

The banquet will be Friday evening.

The registration cost will be $200 for members, $265 for non members. Full registration includes one banquet ticket. Extra banquet tickets are $30 each.

You only want to attend one day (either one)? $100 for members, $165 for non members.
